Mole removal is a minor clinical procedure that eliminates unwanted or potentially concerning moles, skin tags, warts, sebaceous cysts and other benign skin lesions. Most removals are performed using radiofrequency ablation or shave excision under local anaesthetic. The procedure is fast, precise and leaves minimal scarring.

Clinical Assessment

Dr Gregorio examines the lesion — assessing size, borders, colour, symmetry and any history of change. Benign lesions suitable for in-clinic removal are identified. Any lesion with atypical features is referred for dermatological assessment or biopsy before removal proceeds.

Local Anaesthetic

A small amount of local anaesthetic is injected around the lesion to completely numb the area. The procedure itself is painless once the anaesthetic has taken effect. For very small skin tags, topical anaesthetic cream alone may be sufficient.

The lesion is removed using the most appropriate technique — radiofrequency ablation, shave excision or punch excision. The method is chosen to achieve complete removal with the least tissue disruption and minimal scarring. Most procedures take 15–30 minutes.
